How to
Compete

Reports must be submitted with the horse’s name as it appears on its Competition Registration. Any discrepancies will not be accepted.

Points will be recorded when a NOHSA member submits a properly completed Exhibitor Results Report online. Members should submit an Exhibitor Results Report as soon as possible and no later than 30 days after the date of the show. No Exhibitor Report will be accepted after 30 days from the date of the show, up until January 31 of the following year. Submitted Exhibitor Results Reports with incomplete or inaccurate information will be declined.  Random audits of Exhibitor Results Reports will be done on a regular basis. Information supplied by the NOHSA member will be verified by contacting the show manager or official listed on the report. Disciplinary proceedings will be initiated if any information is found to be falsified.

Points are earned by one horse and one rider working together as a team. To have your points count toward Year-End Awards, your horse must have a current Competition Registration and the competitor must have an active NOHSA membership. Points are based on how many horses show in a class. For example, if nine horses enter the class, points are based on all nine, even if some are disqualified. NOHSA will recognize up to ten placings in each class, and points are given based on the official points chart below.

NOHSA is built around local, in-person horse shows that help you grow and gain experience.

Your show must be held in person
You need to compete at a live horse show. Online competitions do not count.

Your show must be an open horse show
Shows that do not offer classes sanctioned by a national association other than 4-H and FFA (such as the ones listed below) are eligible!

Great examples of eligible shows include:

• State or regional affiliate shows that are not officially approved by a national organization
